Αντιδράσεις από τουρίστες για την δηλητηρίαση ζώων στην Λευκάδα

Μηνύματα έστειλαν τουρίστες οι οποίοι έχουν επισκεφτεί την Λευκάδα, όταν ενημερώθηκαν για την δηλητηρίαση ζώων στο νησί .

Πρόσφατα οι ζωοκτόνοι έδρασαν και πάλι στον Πόρο, στην Νικιάνα και στην περιοχή του Αγίου Θωμά στην πόλη της Λευκάδας, εξοντώνοντας αθώα πλάσματα.

Δυστυχώς οι εγκληματικές αυτές πράξεις δεν έχουν ως αποτέλεσμα μόνο τον θάνατο με φρικτό τρόπο δεκάδων ζώων αλλά επηρεάζουν αρνητικά και την τουριστική εικόνα του νησιού, με ότι αυτό συνεπάγεται.

Εκτός από το Σωματείο Ζωόφιλων Λευκάδας που καταδίκασε για μια ακόμα φορά την ρίψη φόλας και κάλεσε όποιον γνωρίζει πληροφορίες σχετικά με τον δράστη να επικοινωνήσει με την αστυνομία, ανακοίνωση εξέδωσε και ο Σύλλογος Επαγγελματιών Νικιάνας (δες εδώ) καταδικάζοντας την δηλητηρίαση των ζώων, την οποία χαρακτηρίζει ως «βάρβαρη και δειλή πράξη» , ενώ καλεί τους κατοίκους του χωριού να καταγγείλουν όποια κρούσματα τυχόν υποπέσουν στην αντίληψή τους.

Στις ημέρες μας όμως και με την χρήση του διαδικτύου τα νέα (ειδικά τα άσχημα) ταξιδεύουν γρήγορα, έτσι οι ειδήσεις για τις δηλητηριάσεις ζώων στο νησί και οι αποτρόπαιες φωτογραφίες με νεκρά ζώα έφτασαν και σε ανθρώπους που έχουν επιλέξει στο παρελθόν και σκόπευαν (αλλά δεν θα το κάνουν) να το επισκεφτούν ξανά, για τις διακοπές τους.

Κάποιοι εκτός από το ότι διέγραψαν την Λευκάδα από τον χάρτη των καλοκαιρινών προορισμών τους, κοινοποίησαν σε γνωστούς και φίλους τα ντροπιαστικά μαντάτα με σκοπό να τους προφυλάξουν από πιθανή επίσκεψη στο νησί μας, ενώ μερικοί από αυτούς προχώρησαν στην αποστολή επιστολών στο ηλεκτρονικό ταχυδρομείο της ιστοσελίδας μας προκειμένου να τις κοινοποιήσουμε, τις οποίες μπορείτε να διαβάσετε παρακάτω.

“Ελπίζουμε ο Δήμος Λευκάδας που είναι αρμόδιος για τα αδέσποτα ζώα, οι διωκτικές αρχές, οι επαγγελματικοί φορείς του νησιού, οι επαγγελματίες αλλά και οι κάτοικοι της Λευκάδας να πάρουν επιτέλους στα σοβαρά αυτό τεράστιο πρόβλημα και να προσπαθήσουν για την εξάλειψη του καθώς και την για την τιμωρία των εγκληματιών, οι οποίοι με την ίδια ευκολία που δολοφονούν ένα αθώο ζώο, μπορούν να δολοφονήσουν και ένα μικρό παιδί”, αναφέρει το mylefkada.gr.

Dear, those it may concernI have heard and read of the numerous killings (poisonings) of your animals this spring. It’s terrifying, to see that the year is 2016 and you’re still brutally killing off precious creatures instead of trying to improve their poor lives.

Last year I was supposed to have gone to Lefka but it didn’t happen so I was planning on it this year. Not anymore. Not ever till you stop your killings. I will definitely spread the word, and I have lots of friends/relatives going to Greece every summer.

Greece is very open to World Scrutiny, with the advent of the internet. Many people exchange pictures, conversations and opinions, from one country to another. Greece is under a lot of scrutiny, not for its beautiful beaches, scenery and history. It is being extensively criticized, on a very large scale, in many countries, including the UK, USA, all the Scandinavian countries, Germany and many more.It is common knowledge that stray cats and dogs are poisoned, every year, before the tourist season starts. As a tourist myself, I am very angry that the Greek government offices do this, it makes me distrust Greece and wonder about other aspects of its moral values. On Facebook, Twitter and other ‘talk sites’, there is a rapidly growing, number of like-minded people, who abhor the poisoning of your stray animals. I think this could ultimately affect tourism to your country.

There are a growing number of Greek people, trying to help their stray animals, they do not want animals to be poisoned. There is a growing number of Groups, outside of Greece, making a difference in helping your stray animals. Do you want to be seen as the Beggars, who accept help, but do nothing to help themselves? It is time you helped the stray animals, in a humane way. Offer free castration and spaying of animals to the Greek people. If less kittens and puppies are born, the problem will decrease.

It is not only stray animals, who are poisoned; animals, loved by their owners often eat the poison. I have Greek friends near Athens and they have had five of their cats killed, by poison. The last time it happened, they were so upset, that they could not face owning another cat, just for it to be poisoned. They now have dogs, but are very careful, when they take them on a walk. Also one of my friends was very badly attacked by a cat, in its death throws from being poisoned, it was clinging to her, with its claws. She needed Hospital treatment for the deep wounds.
